Honda and Acura have brought back the compact sports car in style. The latest iterations of the Civic Si and the new Integra They have aroused an emotions in the enthusiasts. Here we bring you a little battle Civic Si 2023 vs. Integra 2023 where we will explain some differences and similarities between both sedans, in case you are thinking of buying either of them in 2023.
Civic Si and Integra have the same powertrains
First, what we have under the hood of these cars. Both vehicles feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 200 hp and 192 pound-feet of torque. They are the same and work similarly on both cars, as you would expect. You can even average around 34 mpg in both cars with a similar mix of city and highway driving.
The main difference is that with the Acura Integra, you’ll have the option of a CVT on its lower trim levels (only the higher A-Spec model has a stick); With the Honda Civic Si, you have no choice. Both cars have the same manual transmission six-speed equipped with a limited-slip differential. They feel supremely sublime compared to any other shifter on the market, including the Toyota GR86.
For example, when it comes to the powertrains on these two cars, it’s a win-win scenario.
The Integra has a more comfortable interior than the Civic Si
When comparing both cars, it quickly becomes apparent that they are the same car. After all, the Integra is based on the Civic platform. However, the biggest difference between them, aside from exterior styling, is their interiors. The Integra has more comfortable seats than the Civic Si. Providing better boost and come standard with an 8 position stem adjustment.
It features seat heaters, useful on cold winter days, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control and the 16-speaker ELS sound system that the Integra was equipped with.
Both cars offer applecarplay/Android Auto wireless. However, the Civic Si has 12-speaker Bose sound, which is good, but not as good as the Integra’s audio, and only single-zone climate control. Its cab is comfortable and gets the job done, but the Integra’s is a little nicer.
Civic Si and Integra bodywork
When it comes to exterior aesthetics, the Civic Si and the Acura Integra look quite different. Both have four doors, but the Integra sports a fastback shape to fit its hatchback architecture. The Civic Si resembles its lower-level counterparts with its traditional sedan shape and trunk, with the exception of a small decklid spoiler and larger wheels.
As far as determining if one looks better than the other, that’s up to prospective buyers.
The Acura Integra wins in cargo space
The Integra’s liftback styling gives it more cargo space than the Civic Si. According to Acura, the Integra has 24.3 cubic feet of cargo volume compared to the Civic’s 14.4. The difference is apparent when you stuff golf clubs and groceries into each car, as the Integra definitely has more space.
How does each car drive?
Both vehicles feel the same on the road. Steering is light and they handle corners at high speed with the agility of a rabbit running through a dense forest. The Integra does have an advantage in the handling department, though, because it’s equipped with an adaptive suspension that can be put into “comfort, normal, and sport” modes.
Although, there is not a big difference between each mode. In fact, the Civic Si’s non-adaptive suspension looks the best, as it provides plenty of comfort in normal driving situations and has stiff springs to handle tight turns without bashing you or exuding too much body roll.
2023 Honda Civic Si vs. Acura Integra 2023: and the price?
Finally, when it comes to buying between the 2023 Acura Integra and the 2023 Honda Civic Si, the price between the two is a major deciding factor. Given that they are essentially the same vehicle under the veneer, buyers will need to decide which vehicle presents a better value.
The Integra A-Spec (with manual transmission) retails for around $37,000, while the Civic Si retails for around $28,000. The $10,000 difference is perhaps due to plusher seats, dual-zone climate control, a better sound system, and more cargo space.
But, if it were necessary to decide, perhaps for this reason the winner would be the Honda Civic Si 2023. However, choosing a sports compact or another is not really a mistake.
