Honda offered a preview of what’s to come for the next year in terms of automobiles. Briefly in the press release there is a brief mention of Honda Civic Hybrid. The manufacturer will present it in the United States, offering the model in the styles sedan and hatchback.
The model’s arrival is part of efforts to improve hybrid sales in the US. Honda wants a mix of CR-V and Accord sales at 50%, which would be “an important step to move customers closer to fully electric vehicles and reduce GHG emissions [gases de efecto invernadero]».
The hatchback version of the Honda Civic Hybrid was revealed in March for Europe, and days later it debuted in Thailand. This gets its power from the 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine with two compact electric blocks. The system offers a total power of 181 hp and 232 pound-feet of torque, which is managed with its not so sporty e-CVT.

Appearance-wise, the US-bound Civic Hybrid should look similar to today’s. The e:HEV debuted on the Old Continent with a 9″ infotainment screen and a 10.2″ instrument group that should be standard.
Honda did not announce debut dates, but it should do so later this year and go on sale as a 2024 model. The 2024 Ridgeline TrailSport variant is also expected later this year.
