VW T-Roc Cab Edition Gray Built For Blue Skies, Limited To 999 Units

The Volkswagen T-Roc is a relatively new compact crossover from the German automaker. It debuted in 2017, with the convertible version surprisingly arriving two years later. It was this soft-top model that Volkswagen used for the new T-Roc Cabriolet Edition Gray model which received a visual tweak and several other improvements.

Volkswagen will limit production of this model to just 999 units. On the outside, the automaker finished the T-Roc with a matte Iridium Gray paint finish, pairing the sleek color with black accents. VW uses contrasting black on the mirror covers and spoiler thanks to the Black Style design package. VW extended black to the door handles, T-Roc lettering, and trim strips, while 18-inch black-painted Grange Hill wheels sit on all four corners.

Inside, the crossover receives navigation, and a number of driver assistance features such as lane keeping assist. Other technologies include matrix headlights with Dynamic Light Assist, winter package with heated steering wheel and backup camera. The automaker built the T-Roc Cabriolet specifically from the R-Line trim, giving the Edition Gray a strong base of features and amenities. Volkswagen says the new package will cost less than the equivalent R-Line Cabriolet.

VW also offers the Plus Edition package, which adds more kit. Adding it to the limited T-Roc Edition Gray swaps the black 18-inch wheels for 19-inch Suzuka wheels. The crossover also received navigation improvements, a BeatsAudio sound system and adaptive chassis controls. The special T-Roc came with the automaker’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 148 horsepower (110 kilowatts).

The T-Roc Edition Gray costs €46,470 ($49,636 at today’s exchange rates) in Germany. The model with the Plus Edition Package costs €51,600 ($55,119). It’s available to order now, and Volkswagen hopes deliveries will start in February in the country. VW has sold more than a million T-Rocs since their introduction, but the company doesn’t offer the crossover in the US.
