The Tesla Model 3 boasts a towing capacity of 2,200 pounds, so towing an average size camper isn’t a big deal.

What should not be able towing is a 15,000 pound modular home, a feat not to be attempted at home. However, the CEO of Boxabl, a housing technology company, caused the vehicle to carry the Boxabl Casita prefab house.

Galiano Tiramani, founder of the aforementioned company, shared a video showing a Tesla Model 3 being towed a Boxabl Little House in the streets from Las Vegas. This has a total weight of 19,000 pounds.

It is an advertising campaign that tries to show “how transportable our room modules are”. For the work it was necessary a trailer hitch on the Tesla.

«Although the Tesla Model 3 does not have a trailer hitch, we decided to choose one and modify it. We knew that even though it’s not rated to tow a Casita legally, it would be strong enough.”

The Boxabl Casita features walls, floor, and roof that fold together to form a self-contained transportable unit. The company indicates that the house can be unpacked and assembled in less than an hour.

Houses are manufactured on a similar line to vehicles and tiramani says that the company’s goal is to produce one house per minute.
