The Guangzhou Auto Show made headlines, and not precisely because of the display of an unusual vehicle, but because of a concept car that caught fire in the living room.
There is not much information about it, but Weibo provided images and a video of the incident that took place on the IAT screen and destroyed a futuristic hatchback-like concept car.
Sino-Singapore Jingwei reports that IAT Automotive issued a statement on Wechat explaining that during the “building” the “cabin accidentally caught fire”.
The company added that it is cooperating with the “Guangzhou Auto Show Organizing Committee to investigate the cause of the accident”.

It’s worth noting that it’s unclear if the fire was started by the concept car or if it started elsewhere and spread to the vehicle. As for the investigation, it is possible that it is focused on the car, since it is speculated that it is the origin.
Despite the fire, the IAT screen appears to have been quickly patched up when Webio user Odd Brothers shared an image showing an immaculate cockpit with no signs of fire.
