The VW ID.7 which will be added to the range of German electric cars in the middle of the year, was seen for the first time at CES, the great electronics fair with a special camouflage. A debut that took place a few weeks ago, and where the firm did not give great details of its characteristics.
Something that it will do progressively until it is surely unveiled at the Munich Motor Show, in mid-September of this year. Until then, Volkswagen will be revealing its main technologies. In connection with this, Volkswagen filed the first novelty of the ID.7: an advanced technological automatic climate control with an intelligent function. This system can be configured from the touch screen that occupies the central console that is 380 millimeters diagonal and 15 inches.
The new Volkswagen ID.7 is a modern and technological vehicle
The Wolfsburg engineers deployed their experience to develop a system that will have sliding keys, and from which it will be possible to select a temperature with a difference of up to 7º between the driver and the passenger. However, what makes this automatic climate control smart are a series of more advanced features. Like, for example, the automatic adjustment of the force of the fans when opening the doors, to cool or heat the passenger compartment.
The horizontal ventilation nozzles on the dashboard are regulated automatically, directing the air flow towards the bodywork or passenger compartment and the body of the driver and passengers. But the system does more than that, since it takes into account the angle of incidence of the sun’s rays (due to a sensor on the windshield). In this way, it will adjust the cooling towards the warmer side and then towards the body of the front occupants.
Artificial intelligence in the new Volkswagen ID.7
It is worth mentioning that the voice assistant of the ID.7 will also respond to the demands of the front passengers regarding the climate control. Just saying something like “Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold” will suffice and this will cause the climate control to send warm air to the driver’s hands, in addition to turning on the steering wheel heating on units equipped with this option. In addition, the new “Smart Climates” function saves the driver’s climate preferences.
