As you know, Super Bowl LVII is just around the corner, and as always, advertisers are taking advantage of it to get their products out there. However, many car manufacturers will stay away this year and not advertise their vehicles in-game.
News from advertisers for the Super Bowl 2023
As of January 28, the only car brand to commit to one of the event’s expensive advertising spots was Kia, with GM joining it later. While brands like Toyota, Carmax, Carvana and Vroom announced they would not participate in this game. This fact will save them about $7 million from the 30-second ad, according to AdAge. However, closer to the date, other manufacturers continue to join, such as RAM and Jeep who will also announce in Super Bowl 2023.
GM publishes Netflix-inspired car commercial
Although we had previously received the news that GM and Netflix would partner to promote EV’swith the automaker pledging to put more electric vehicles (many of which it doesn’t yet produce) on screen in Netflix shows in the future.
Now, GM has launched the complete car commercial inspired by the Netflix series, by the renowned actor Will Ferrell, for the SBLVII game.
WeatherTech enters the game
For its part, auto accessories maker WeatherTech is back in the game for the tenth time with a new 30-second commercial that will air during FOX’s telecast of Super Bowl 2023 on February 12. This year’s ad marks a decade of consecutive Super Bowl advertising for the company and shows its growth over the years.
