MX: Subway train crash in CDMX leaves 1 dead and 23 injured

This Saturday, January 7, one person lost their lives and another 23 were injured as a result of a crash between two trains of the Mexico City Metro, This was reported by local media.

The accident occurred between the stations Potrero and La Raza, which belong to Line 3 of the Metro, which runs from north to south through the Mexican capital. The local press indicates that the trains collided in the tunnel that connects both stations.


The injured people were treated at ambulance and dozens of passengers were evicted from the tracks.

Metro of Mexico City, object of criticism

The Mexico City subway was inaugurated in 1969 and has an extension of 226km Y 195 stations in 12 different lines. In 2021 alone, some 837 million passengers.

But this transport service has been criticized for lack of maintenance and investment, as well as the accidents that usually occur inside.
