Peeked Audi Q7 Preparing for the Second Facelift

The current generation Audi Q7 debuted in early 2015, meaning the model is entering its ninth year on the market. Usually, such products have shorter life cycles in the auto industry, but the Ingolstadt-based company has no plans to launch a new generation of its luxury SUV. Instead, it’s currently working on a facelift for the model and we have new spy photos showing an undercover prototype.

This isn’t the first facelift for the Q7. Back in 2019, this model received new technology and a fresh new front fascia. We doubt this second facelift will bring as significant changes as the previous one, but we can already see design changes in the test car. Don’t expect anything big but be prepared for fresh front and rear styling.

Camouflage hides new headlights and taillights, as well as a new front grille with a different pattern and wide horizontal panels that can become active shutters. Recent renderings provide a very accurate preview of what the Q7 2024 will look like.

It’s definitely not an electric engine which means the small panel could be used to provide extra cooling to the internal combustion engine. Judging by the smoother exhaust pipes at the rear, on the other hand, this isn’t an SQ7 but a regular version of the model. It will be very interesting to see if Audi is planning any new engines for the Q7 family, although at this early stage, we have no confirmation that improvements are being planned.

The lack of interior camouflage hints at minimal or no changes in the cabin. However, we expect to see improvements in line with what the updated Q8 will get, including a new steering wheel, updated MMI infotainment interface, and possibly new trim and coating options. Look for its official debut in the second half of this year with sales likely to start before the end of the year as the 2024 model.
