Subaru introduced the new Impreza 2024 a few months back at the Los Angeles Auto Show and now he’s trying to spice up the hatchback with a variety of STI parts. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, the concept sports Sunblaze Pearl paint and looks a bit more aggressive thanks to a subtle body kit. Although this is not a complete STI version, as Subaru Tecnica International has just started working on updates for the sixth generation model.
2024 Subaru Impreza with STI parts
The most obvious change is at the rear, where the 2024 Impreza gets dual center-mounted exhaust tips, giving it a slightly sportier look. This JDM-spec vehicle rides on black STI-branded alloy wheels and has been fitted with a newly designed roof-mounted spoiler. Also at the rear, the bumper has gained a pair of flaps in an attempt to make the compact hatch look more muscular.
You’ll also notice the more robust side skirts finished in gloss black to match the other STI add-ons. For the moment that is all, since Subaru has not given details about possible hardware changes. A sportier suspension setup is likely in the works, and ideally some extra oomph is in the planning.
As a review, the Impreza 2024 US-spec has a base 2.0-liter engine delivering 152 hp (113 kW) and 145 lb-ft (197 Nm), but can be upgraded to a 2.5-liter rated at 182 hp (136 Nm) . kW) and 178 pound-feet (241 Nm). Subaru says that the Japanese version is based on a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain, both with all wheel drive and continuously variable transmission (CVT).
For now, this is just an effort by STI to infuse some excitement into the latest Impreza. New parts are being developed and Subaru’s performance division is expected to be planning some mechanical upgrades to go along with the visual improvements.
