Through social networks, Internet users shared a video where you can see a car that was scratched traveling through the streets of Peru, it had written with red spray “coward, you didn’t know Excel«, supposedly after lying on his resume and ruining a company project.
And it is that, supposedly, the owner of the vehicle would have ruined a project of the company where he worked, by not knowing how to use the Microsoft Excel platform. On the vehicle there were comments like “you like to cheat, you ruined the project”.
The Chamber of Foreign Trade of Peru would have taken advantage of the situation to carry out its certification campaign in courses of different computer programs. However, all this is what was initially thought, the true story is quite anotherbut in the same way, related to marketing, here we tell you.
The reason why they scratched a car in Peru
The reality is that all this was about an advertising campaign, and a rather controversial one but for the same reason, very viral. As we mentioned, the message of “Coward, you didn’t know Excel”, flooded social networks, because a possible “coworker” had his truck scratched for not knowing how to master Excel and having harmed the project; The video posted on TikTok immediately went viral, later touring other network platforms and generating thousands of comments.
But, although at first it was thought that it had happened in a real company, the story is that it was a disruptive campaign of the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Peru. This, in order to announce its most recent courses to master Excel.
At the time of the publication of the video on TikTok, many users sympathized with the message, such as: “What anger to lose an effort for someone who does not have empathy that is not done”; or others who commented that the person who uploaded the video would face charges for being a crime. “He doesn’t know anything about Excel and he doesn’t know that insurance adjusters force you to pay,” they also commented.
However, after a few days, the mystery was uncovered, since the Chamber of Foreign Commerce uploaded a video showing the creative process of the campaign, which has been one of the ones that has attracted the most attention regarding the importance of knowing how to use Excel in the work environment. An ingenious strategy.
