The SUV Q5 has been a huge success for the firm, so much so that the current model is the most popular car in Audi. However, the second generation model has been on the market for almost six years, so it is already in need of a replacement.

development engineers Audi they parked the two models, one next to the other so that some spy photos would come to light.

Although at the moment we don’t know anything about the car’s specifications, it will probably arrive as a 2024 model by the end of next year. From what can be seen in these images, the new version is longer and lower. The windshield appears to have a steeper slope and the roof drops more to the ground at the rear, giving it a sportier appearance.

This prototype is equipped with marker lights on both ends, but apparently the Q5 will feature traditional one-piece headlights and won’t jump to the modern split-lamp design we’ll be looking at in the next Q6 e-tron. However, these lights will have LEDs and the brand will offer its intelligent adaptive matrix LED lighting system.

Exterior modifications are not relevant when compared to what happens inside the next Q5. The current model packs a rectangular tablet touchscreen and digital gauge package into its basic dash design, but changes come.

The hardware under the hood is almost identical to that of the A4 and will have gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines. With four-wheel drive via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or an eight-speed automatic.
